Nowy rok się zbliża / A New Year Is Coming Soon

Rok się kończy, czas pomyśleć o kalendarzach na nowy:
The year is coming to an end, time to think of a calendar for the new one:


"Kilka dni temu ktoś zapytał mnie czy mam już kalendarze na nowy rok... Cóż było robić, trzeba było usiąść i rozpocząć temat choć mnie wydawało się, że jest jeszcze trochę czasu. Miało być skromnie i prosto. 
"A couple of days ago a customer asked me about calendars for the new year...Well, I just had to get down to work though I had thought I still have some time.
The calendar was supposed to go modestly and simply.
 

Do brązowej okładki kalendarza dobrałam gazetowy papier z kolekcji Vintage Basics, który potuszowałam na brzegach. Pięknie eksponuje obrazek z malowanymi różami i razem z odbitą i wyciętą za pomocą wykrojnika etykietką, na której umieściłam rok ułożony z naklejek, są właściwie jedyną ozdobą. 
I paired teh brown cover of the calendar base with the newspaper sheet from the Vintage Basics that I inked on the edges. It really makes the painted roses image stand out, and together with the stamped and die-cut label and the year composed from the alpha stickers it consitutes the embellishment part.

Żeby jednak nie było tak całkiem ascetycznie dodałam kilka półperełek, które podkleiłam bardzo mocnym klejem, żeby przy codziennym użytkowaniu nic im nie groziło, a brzegi obrazka musnęłam brokatem w delikatnym różowym kolorze. 
But not to make it too ascetic I added a few pearls fixed on some strong glue o secure them for the daily use, and added a touch of light pink glitter to the edges of the image

Niby nic takiego, ale dzięki tym zabiegom delikatnie zmienił się  charakter całości. Nie jest już tak zgrzebnie choć wciąż skromnie i prosto.

It's not much, but the character of the whole had changed. It's not so unrefined anymore, though still humbly and simply.
